 Each Sunday morning at SBC all ages gather together to worship at the start of every service, but most weeks, as the children go out to their Sunday activities, the youth go out to their own youth congregation within SBC! GenRise consists of young people in SBC from the age of 11 and meets until about 12.30pm each Sunday. The aim of GenRise is to form a close, supportive band of young people who are committed to learning about God, engaging with the Bible and supporting each other in their lives and faith. We try to do these things by using games, activities, discussions and debates amongst other things to explore what the Bible has to say to young people today. We follow Bible themes, look at relevant issues facing young people and in small ‘pods’, which are usually led by young people themselves, we try to build solid relationships with each other. GenRise is a great way to do church as a young person – being part of the whole of SBC but also focussing on stuff young people want to look at. |
