Food ministry is a term that buzzes around Skipton Baptist Church. We don't have a regular cafe or restaurant but on Wednesdays at 12 noon normally fifty or so people meet together for their lunch.

Whilst anyone can come (providing they book in due to the limited number of places), most of those who eat with us regularly are in their senior years.

Every week Marielyn and her team of volunteers begin food preparation at 8 o'clock in the morning and by mid-day they will have a fine two course meal ready to serve. Regulars come from many of the churches in Skipton and from none, all are welcome. What is instantly noticeable on a Wednesday is the warm atmosphere and the busyness of conversation as friends meet together.

For some this meeting once a week has even become their 'church'. Without hymns and a sermon it is nevertheless a place where people are able to Meet God, and Meet Friends, and the testimony of many is that it makes a difference in the lives which they lead.
