We want the Church to be a place where people are able to Meet God no matter who they are or from what background they come. We want people to be able to do this in our Sunday worship, our mid week meetings for young and old alike and in our daily lives. We want people to know that God loves them and that he will meet their needs in life.
This means that we need to make friends with those already part of the church and with those who are new to church, it also means making friends with people who live in our community. As the ministry team talked and prayed about the future we felt convinced that God was leading us to these words that are now familar to everyone at Skipton Bapitst Church and now form our mission statement and give a clear vision to what we are trying to do both inside and outside the church: Meet God, Meet Friends, Make a Difference.
So in everything we do as a church and everything that we plan to do in the future we find ourselves constantly asking two question of ourselves, is this what God is leading us to do and will it help others to Meet God, Meet Friends and Make a Difference in their lives and the lives of others around them.
